Panic! At the Disco Tease New Music With Cryptic Website

A mysterious website, ShutUpAndGoToBed.com, surfaced over the weekend, seemingly teasing an upcoming album from Brendon Urie’s band, Panic! at the Disco. Fans are using their detective skills to try to break the code and figure out what it means.

The website acts as a sleep calculator, collecting information such as age demographics and bedtimes to provide a personalized wake-up time.

When you first visit the new website, a sleep calculator will ask you for your age, preferred bedtime, and email address. When you click the calculate button, an orange box with the words “Don’t be a diva, it’s time to be free” appears. Whatever bedtime you enter, it tells you that you must “wake up at 6!01”.

The flashing clock face that displays the numbers – thought to refer to the date June 1 – occasionally displays letters instead, reading: “V!LV.” Fans have theorized that this could be a time in numerals (5:55) or “Viva! Las Vegas,” a reference to Urie’s hometown.

“Don’t forget to set your alarm, so you know when to get up,” the site advises over a yellow button that says, “Set an alarm.” Upon clicking the button, an audio of the band’s frontman Urie singing “Shut up and go to bed” starts playing.

The website’s source code also provides additional clues and confirms the site’s connection with the band. “By submitting my information, I agree to receive personalized updates and marketing messages about Panic! at the Disco based on my information, interests, activities, website visits and device data,” one section says.

Further up, the website seems to hint at potential song lyrics that may suggest the tone of the next album cycle: “Nothing’s really real, no one really feels.”

Panic! At The Disco

If a new era of Panic! at the Disco is on the way, it would be the band’s first official release in four years after 2018’s Pray for the Wicked.

Cabello will kick off the UEFA Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid on Saturday, May 28, at the Stade de France in Paris. The singer will perform a five-minute mashup of her chart-topping singles, as well as new songs from her newly released third studio album, ‘Familia.’

The carnival-themed event will include a plethora of dancers, costumes, and musicians, as well as high-energy choreography meant to entertain fans both inside and outside the stadium.

“I’m so excited to be taking to the stage at UEFA Champions League final in Paris this month! I intend on putting on a really special show, bringing together the spirit of my Latin heritage and a feeling of togetherness for sports and music fans all over the world – I can’t wait!” Cabello said of the upcoming performance.

The singer made the announcement with a vivid video in which she performs her 2017 hit “Havana” in a colorful, flowering AI universe. She dances across the stage before whirling around as her blue gown turns into a flowy pink gown, and she transitions into her latest hit, “Bam Bam” as a virtual version of the champion’s cup floats high above her.

“Pepsi MAX has been working with UEFA to build the Opening Ceremony platform since 2016 and we’re delighted to be returning to live stadium shows and bringing Camila Cabello to the stage this year,” said Eric Melis, Pepsi’s Global Marketing Vice President.

“Pepsi MAX has a long and rich heritage in entertainment and this year’s show will not disappoint as we bring elements of Camila’s Latina spirit to one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year.”

Each year, major musical artists perform during the Opening Ceremony, with prior performers including Dua Lipa, Marshmello, and Black Eyed Peas. Before the game, the show will be broadcast in over 200 countries across the globe.

Cabello released her third album, ‘Familia,’ last month, saying that the experience “saved my life.”

“The journey to making it completely changed (me) and, not to be dramatic, saved my life,” she shared on TikTok. “Y’know, I started this album at a really sh**ty mental health point and the process of making it, and being vulnerable and being honest about my experiences and leaning on other people changed my life.”

Doja Cat and Dolly Parton Will Star in a Taco Bell TikTok Musical

Doja Cat and Dolly Parton will star in a new TikTok musical for Taco Bell based on the chain’s infamous Mexican Pizza.

Mexican Pizza: The Musical will premiere on the social media platform on May 26 to commemorate the return of the once-discontinued and much-loved dish to the fast-food chain’s menu.

Doja Cat has been a vocal advocate of the Mexican Pizza, even writing a “contractual” rap for Taco Bell after the item was removed from the menu in 2020. “If you ever dare to go discontinued,” she raps in the jingle, adding, “This ain’t even Mexican food.”

When TikTok comic Victor Kunda took the jingle and made a spoof version of a musical about Mexican Pizza starring Doja Cat, the roots of Mexican Pizza: The Musical were planted. According to EW, Kunda will now feature in the new musical, which was inspired in part by her video.

Screenwriter Hannah Friedman and TikTok pair Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, known for their TikTok musical ‘The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical,’ were also involved in the musical’s development.

“We sat down and composed a musical for Mexican Pizza,” Barlow confirmed in a TikTok video, adding, “Every song is a banger, if I do say so myself.”

Parton later confirmed her involvement in the project, in an unspecified capacity, in an Instagram post that included a photo of the script, which described the musical as “based on the true story of the internet losing its mind.”

Over 200,000 people signed a petition to have the Mexican Pizza back on Taco Bell’s menu. The petition organizer characterized Mexican pizza as a “bridge to American culture for kids who grew up in immigrant households.”

Bad Bunny Tops Spotify Records With His New Album ‘Un Verano Sin Ti’

Bad Bunny is already breaking streaming records with his new album, ‘Un Verano Sin Ti.’

Spotify revealed that the Puerto Rican star broke two records on the first day of his album’s release, Friday (May 6).

Un Verano Sin Ti by Bad Bunny is the most-streamed album in 2022 thus far.

The artist also became the most-streamed artist in the world in a single day, with 183 million streams. Drake held the previous record with 176.8 million streams.

On Friday, all 23 songs from Bad Bunny’s new album were among the top 30 on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global chart, with nine of them getting to the top 10.

At 28 years old, Bad Bunny has been practically unstoppable since his genre-bending debut in 2018, fusing synth-pop, pop-punk, bachata, and reggaeton on his journey to becoming a worldwide phenomenon.

In 2020, he released two albums, including “El Último Tour Del Mundo,” the first fully Spanish-language album to top the Billboard 200 chart. He has been Spotify’s most-streamed artist for the past two years in a row.

“The vibe in this album is so it can be your summer playlist,” Bad Bunny explained to For the Record. “I personally see it like that album you play when you go on vacation to an island and you’re on the beach all day. Then you go back to your vacation resort and put it on while you’re getting ready to go for a late dinner with your friends. And on your way to that dinner you ask the driver to play the album again.”

“The album is very versatile, very Bad Bunny,” he explained. “But the versatility is different from the others; this one has different sounds—reggaeton, dembow, reggae influence, afro beats—and all of them relate to the Caribbean beats. They all feel happy and you want to dance to them.”

Scooter Braun Addresses Taylor Swift’s Re-Recordings, Says He Disagrees With ‘Weaponizing a Fanbase’

Scooter Braun got honest in a recent interview about Taylor Swift and her fans.

In an interview with Ari Melber for MSNBC’s The Beat, Scooter Braun mentioned acquiring Swift’s masters and how he doesn’t like musicians “weaponizing” their fanbase.

“The person who owned Taylor’s masters throughout her career was not myself,” Braun said in the interview. “When I was buying a record label, I actually said to that group, ‘If at any point she wants to come back and be a part of this conversation, please let me know because I wouldn’t do this deal.'”

He added, “I was shown an email – which has now been made public – where she stated that she wanted to move on that negotiation and wasn’t interested in doing that deal anymore.”

Braun later said that “Taylor has every right to re-record,” adding, “She has every right to pursue her masters, and I wish her nothing but well, and I have zero interest in saying anything bad about her.”

The music manager, who has worked with Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and Demi Lovato, also mentioned that although he has “never said anything bad about [Swift] in the past, and I won’t start to now,” the only thing he condemns is “weaponizing a fanbase.”

His publicized feud with Taylor made headlines in June 2019 when Taylor released a social media post alleging that her previous label, Big Machine Label Group, had deprived her of the right to own her music by purchasing her masters. She said that Big Machine CEO Scott Borchetta and the label would only allow her to “earn” one master back for each album she released, so she chose to leave.

Scooter Braun acquired her masters via his company Ithaca Holdings by acquiring Big Machine.

“When I left my masters in Scott’s hands, I made peace with the fact that eventually he would sell them,” Taylor wrote in her Tumblr post. “Never in my worst nightmares did I imagine the buyer would be Scooter.”

Scooter said in a recent MSNBC interview that he tried to negotiate with Taylor before acquiring her masters, but when she joined Universal Music Group, he felt the deal was off the table and proceeded with the purchase of Big Machine.

He eventually sold her masters to Shamrock Holdings for an estimated $300 million in November 2020.

In a statement at the time, Taylor said she wanted to buy her masters back from Scooter, but his team “wanted me to sign an ironclad NDA stating I would never say another word about Scooter Braun unless it was positive” before going through with the deal.

Taylor posted on social media at the time, “This was the second time my music has been sold without my knowledge. “The letter told me that they wanted to reach out before the sale to let me know, but that Scooter Braun had required that they make no contact with me or my team, or the deal would be off.”

Ultimately, Taylor decided to re-record her first six albums with Universal in order to own those records. The Grammy winner has so far released Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version).

Lady Gaga Announces New ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Single “Hold My Hand”

Lady Gaga’s latest single is on the way, and Little Monsters should thank Top Gun: Maverick for that. Gaga confirmed on Wednesday that the soundtrack’s opening song, “Hold My Hand,” would be released on May 3.

The singer announced the song’s release on Instagram, along with song art and a message expressing her “love letter to the world.” Lady Gaga added that she has “been working on it for years” in order to perfect it and “make it ours” amid this trying time for the planet.

“When I wrote this song for Top Gun: Maverick, I didn’t even realize the multiple layers it spanned across the film’s heart, my own psyche, and the nature of the world we’ve been living in,” she shared. “I wanted to make music into a song where we share our deep need to both be understood and try to understand each other — a longing to be close when we feel so far away and an ability to celebrate life’s heroes.”

The song, which was co-produced by Lady Gaga and BloodPop, is set to be included in the film’s soundtrack, which is composed by Harold Faltermeyer and Hans Zimmer.

“Me, BloodPop, Ben Rice and everyone else who worked on it with us are so excited to share it with you,” she continued before concluding the message with song lyrics. “🎶 But if you decide to; I’ll ride in this life with you; I won’t let go till the end 🎶.”

The song is Gaga’s first release after her collaboration with Tony Bennett on Love for Sale. It’s also her first foray into music soundtracks since co-starring in A Star Is Born and winning an Academy Award for “Shallow” alongside Bradley Cooper.

Gaga has been tweeting the song’s lyrics as a tease for a few days now. “Hold my hand everything will be ok  I heard from the heavens that clouds have been grey,” she tweeted on Tuesday. She went on to tweet, “Pull me close wrap me in your aching arms I see that you’re hurtin’” and “Why’d you take so long to tell me you need me.”

The single will be a musical homage to the original Top Gun soundtrack, which included ’80s mega-hits like Kenny Logins’ Danger Zone and Berlin’s Oscar-winning “Take My Breath Away,” produced by Giorgio Moroder and writer Tom Whitlock and performed by Berlin. It will also feature the Harold Faltermeyer-penned “Top Gun Anthem.”

Future's New Album

Future’s first studio album since High Off Life in 2020 is set to have collaborations with Drake, Gunna, and Kanye West, who is now legally known as Ye.

Epic Records posted a short clip on Tuesday (April 26) that shows his collaboration with Ye. It comes after a video of Future and Ye filming a music video surfaced online earlier this month.

“Cross me so much, I got nails in my hand/City on fire… City on fire,” Ye raps on the song.

I NEVER LIKED YOU is Future’s most emotionally raw, honest effort to date, according to a new cover article in GQ magazine.

“I’m putting myself out there,” Future explained to the magazine. “Sharing my lifestyle with the world. Sharing my pain with the world. Sharing my ups, sharing my downs with the entire universe. I believe in the energy of the universe and manifestation

He explained that this is why he’s giving himself, adding that “I’m willing to correct myself. I don’t want to just… be wrong. I’m willing to give you all of me, so you can tell me how to build on me, and make me a better me.”

Future said in the interview that he put his heart and soul into the album, which he promised would reveal his heart. “Putting this project together is just people understanding that I love hard,” which is hailed as depending on lyrical aggression rather than hooks. “Probably love the hardest. I wanted to showcase my skills as far as melodies and topics and being vulnerable… I turn pain into diamonds… I do that… with my eyes closed.”

Tyler, The Creator Breaks Record For Biggest Vinyl Sales For A Rap Album

Tyler, The Creator’s latest full-length, ‘Call Me If You Get Lost,’ set the record for the highest vinyl sales week for a rap album in over 30 years.

In June 2021, the Californian rapper released his highly lauded sixth studio album, which went on to win Best Rap Album at the Grammy Awards 2022 earlier this month.

According to Stereogum, ‘Call Me…’ returned to the top of the Billboard 200 chart when Tyler released a vinyl version of the album. According to reports, he later sold 49,500 physical copies via his own online store.

The album has now had the ninth-largest sales week for a vinyl album since records started in 1991. ‘Call Me…’ was the highest vinyl sales week of any rap album, reclaiming the crown from Kid Cudi’s ‘Man On The Moon III: The Chosen,’ which sold 41,500 copies last December.

Taylor Swift’s ‘Red (Taylor’s Version),’ released in November, had the highest vinyl sales week overall.

Tyler’s latest full-length effort, according to Stereogum, is the fourth to reclaim the Billboard No. 1 position after a vinyl release. Swift’s ‘Evermore’ and ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’, as well as Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Sour,’ are the other songs to do so.

Tyler, The Creator is scheduled to return to the UK/Ireland this summer for performances at Wireless, Longitude, and Parklife festivals. He’ll also be performing at the Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona in June.
