Bad Bunny is already breaking streaming records with his new album, ‘Un Verano Sin Ti.’

Spotify revealed that the Puerto Rican star broke two records on the first day of his album’s release, Friday (May 6).

Un Verano Sin Ti by Bad Bunny is the most-streamed album in 2022 thus far.

The artist also became the most-streamed artist in the world in a single day, with 183 million streams. Drake held the previous record with 176.8 million streams.

On Friday, all 23 songs from Bad Bunny’s new album were among the top 30 on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global chart, with nine of them getting to the top 10.

At 28 years old, Bad Bunny has been practically unstoppable since his genre-bending debut in 2018, fusing synth-pop, pop-punk, bachata, and reggaeton on his journey to becoming a worldwide phenomenon.

In 2020, he released two albums, including “El Último Tour Del Mundo,” the first fully Spanish-language album to top the Billboard 200 chart. He has been Spotify’s most-streamed artist for the past two years in a row.

“The vibe in this album is so it can be your summer playlist,” Bad Bunny explained to For the Record. “I personally see it like that album you play when you go on vacation to an island and you’re on the beach all day. Then you go back to your vacation resort and put it on while you’re getting ready to go for a late dinner with your friends. And on your way to that dinner you ask the driver to play the album again.”

“The album is very versatile, very Bad Bunny,” he explained. “But the versatility is different from the others; this one has different sounds—reggaeton, dembow, reggae influence, afro beats—and all of them relate to the Caribbean beats. They all feel happy and you want to dance to them.”
