Google I/O Event In Two Minutes!

What a blast was this year’s Google I/O. Google’s CEO Mr. Sundar Pichai gave the keynote in the most beautiful setting ever which represents Google’s commitment to a clean and green climate-friendly future. The event was full of announcements that covered a new Natural Language Processing model named LaMDA which is a state-of-the-art language model for dialog application that is still in the development phase and will be used in Google search and assistant.

Mr. Pichai showed the demo in which the model was making conversation with a person and it was way better than the traditional voice assistants. Google is also working on a Multimodal Model which combines the features of images, text, audio, and video to search for a particular thing for e.g. a person can take a picture of their boots and ask Google if they are right for hiking a particular mountain. Google Maps are getting an amazing new set of features which include the use of AR( Augmented Reality) to navigate indoors like shopping malls and outdoors on streets. Detailed street maps are introduced which will include Sidewalks and crosswalks. Features such as Area busyness which tells how much an area is crowded, to taking the best carbon friendly route to your destination are also included. Google photos will now use ML to identify patterns in photos and will get you to revisit your favourite memories. They will also make cinematic photos from just a single photo frame. Finally Android 12 will be announced later this year with a feature called Material You in which the user gets to make their own personal and customized colorful UI style for different apps.
