J.R. has helped a man get out of prison twenty years earlier than anyone thought was possible, played in the Bantam AAA National Hockey Championship, crisscrossed the United States countless times (hitchhiking and “riding the dog”), been on the road with Bob Dylan’s ‘Neverending Tour,’ won the Institute of Noetic Sciences’ prestigious Consciousness in Action Award, snuck his way into corporate America and secured a role as a highly paid copywriter, ran day-to-day operations at a nonprofit for homeless youth, with no prior training or experience, been a freewheelin’ bike taxi driver in San Francisco, traded original songs and poems for top-tier sporting event tickets on hundreds of occasions, and appeared on 50,000-watt radio and cable television as ‘America’s only working Sports Poet’ … and he’s got a lot to say about it all.
