Nvidia is all set to announce its new generation Ampere architecture graphics cards. The May event COMPUTEX is scheduled for May 31, 2021. The most rumored products are the Geforce RTX 3080 Ti and the Geforce RTX 3070 Ti. The RTX 3080 Ti is expected to have a 12GB GDDR6X memory and a 384-bit wide bus with a lower hash limit for limiting crypto mining.
The new Nvidia cards come with a Lite Hash Rate(LHR) identifier which means that the Nvidia drivers will not allow hashing beyond a certain value. The specs we hear are really promising. They are also expected to be priced reasonably near a $1000 mark. We have one problem and that is the global computer chip shortage going on due to which there is a huge supply and demand issue and the prices of Graphics Cards are over the top. Nvidia has also warned that the supply issues will remain for a while. Keeping this in mind we cannot really comprehend that how an Nvidia event in these times of shortage can make any difference if most people cannot even get a graphics card.
