Darth Vader Enforces CoronaVirus Lockdown In Philippines
Darth Vader has been doing the rounds on the outskirts of Manila to raise awareness of the CoronaVirus lock-down and also helping to hand out food packages.
Youth leaders and city officials dressed up in the costumes, made from rubber mats and old plastic to remind residents that lock-down measures are important.
One elected official dressed in a storm-trooper outfit said;
“We tell off residents who still go outdoors without the proper quarantine passes needed and also those who do not wear face masks. We make sure the government guidelines are properly followed,”
Many of the visits made by the crew of the galactic empire are greeted with smiles and appreciation as they strive to make sure government guidelines are followed.
Some government workers in costume also rode small wooden boats to distribute relief packs containing rice and canned goods on may 4th, the official Star Wars holiday world-wide.
As of Monday there are 9,485 confirmed CoronaVirus cases, 623 deaths and 1,315 recoveries in the Philippines.
Many residents have said that it is a welcome break from the worry that they have been feeling over the last few days.
Other parts of the world have been hit harder and the virus is expected to peak in the Philippines several months later than many other countries.
